Kos, the island that gave to humanity Hippocrates, the father of medicine. It is the third largest island in the Dodecanese chain. The city of Kos, located on the north east side of the island has many historic buildings and archaeological sites scattered throughout the city. It is a lively, modern city with distinct traces of its glorious, yet often painful history.
